October 2016 –
Associate Professors Dr. Jon Sturm and Dr. Denis Crimmins presented the new and exciting investigations now available to make the diagnosis of Alzheimer’s Disease Earlier.
These investigations include Amyloid specific PET Scans, Amyloid/Tau lumbar Punctures and genetic Screen for ApoE status.
Just as exciting were the potential new therapeutic options discussed. These included passive immunization/vaccination treatments aimed at clearing amyloid from the brain before the induction of plaque induced neuronal death… true disease modifying therapies.
