September 2016 –
The Central Coast is a attractive choice for retirees as well as young families so the Dementia patient load is increasing rapidly.
This poses many challenges to all health professionals working in the area.
Dr Kate Cotter presented health care professionals with a rundown of the resources and services available to health professionals, patients and carers in the Central Coast, and outlined new approaches to diagnosis and treatment.
After the meeting, Dr Janet Drewitt-Smith gave us some feedback re the evening…
“I can say that as a coastal GP I thoroughly enjoyed the evening, and the opportunity to hear about new developments in the diagnosis and potential treatment of dementia.
It was great to interact with colleagues and to hear their questions – and know that we all struggle with this area – and “what to do when confronted by family and patient anxiety about” “ memory loss “
I look forward to more talks about developments in neurology generally and dementia diagnosis and treatment specifically
Thank you again – Dr Janet Drewitt-Smith”
